VODKA O AUSTRALIAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP PROMOTES SYDNEY'S BIGGEST EVER MOTOR SPORT SPECTACULAR AND THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY

Ahead of the Sydney Telstra 500, to be held this weekend (December 4-6) at Olympic Park, the Vodka O Australian GT Championship will play a major part in the build-up to Sydney's biggest ever motor racing spectacular.

In addition to promoting the first ever street race to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park venue, the drivers and teams competing in the finale round of the 2009 Australian GT Championship will also be giving back to the community by supporting the International Day of People with a Disability and the Sunnyfield organisation prior to, and during the race weekend.

Wednesday December 2
Activities commence at the Bakehouse Quarter, George Street, North Strathfield from 9am with Italian, British and German thoroughbreds cars on display in the cobblestoned streets and leafy precinct that is the Bakehouse Quarter.

Included in the display is a Porsche GT3 RSR raced by Bakehouse Quarter Director Paul Tresidder together with a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 and an Aston Martin DBRS9.

Tresidder, who will be racing at the weekend against the likes of international film star Eric Bana and racing legend Jim Richards says, ‘you never know who you will bump into at the Bakehouse Quarter and it's a great opportunity to see the world's most exotic racing sports cars up close'.

To celebrate, Bakehouse and the Vodka O Australian GT Championship are offering visitors to the display the chance to win a 3 day pass for two to the Sydney event with VIP access to the GT Drivers and Teams Lounge with catering each of the 3 days valued at more than $400.

Thursday December 3
Martin Place in Sydney's CBD is the venue for another million dollar plus display of some of the leading cars in the Vodka O Australian GT Championship field with a chance for the public to see the exotic race cars close-up and meet some of the drivers.
A Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 and Aston Martin DBRS9 GT3 will be outside the Network 7 studios in Martin Place from 6am -2pm and during this time will also show their support of the International Day of People With A Disability in conjunction with the Sunnyfield organization, that for over 50 years has been supporting people with disabilities to lead more independent lives.

Sunnyfield Id Day fund raising activities will include the sale of ID charm bracelets, charity bands, pens and lapel pins at a number of locations.
Sunday December 6 As part of the weekend of racing at the Sydney Telstra 500, Australian GT management, Vodka O and the drivers & teams will provide VIP hosting for people with a disability from Sunnyfield.

‘Paddock tours, meet and greets with the drivers and access to the GT Lounge will be the order of the day for our very special guests, and to show our support of the Sunnyfield Day initiative', says Australian GT Director Rachael Wagg.

Id Day is a Sunnyfield initiative held in conjunction with the International Day of People with Disability. Sunnyfield's Id Day holds significance in the word identity, which exists in the basic human right to ensure a person with a disability, is identified as a person, not a label.
